Automated mode
Cartwright can run the traffic day by itself, or you can run it by hand. One switch decides. It is in Settings, on the card called Automated mode.
What it does by itself
Every hour, Cartwright:
1. Builds and sends the log for each of the next 7 days that does not have one yet. (The log is the list of spots for one day. It goes to your automation system, the program that plays the station.) 2. Rebuilds and sends a log again when an order changes after the log was sent. 3. Schedules owed spots again. A spot that did not air is "owed". Cartwright puts it back on a later day inside the same order. 4. Checks what aired. For each day that has finished, it compares the log with your automation system's record of what really played. This is called reconciling. 5. Marks orders finished once they have ended and nothing is owed. 6. Watches for spots nobody scheduled. If a spot plays that no log asked for, it tells you.
What it leaves to you
It stops and asks you when a decision is yours:
- a day someone is still working on, and today's log
- a day it cannot check safely (for example, a spot that played more times than it was scheduled)
- money: credits and refunds
- anything only the automation system can do, like rebuilding a day it has already built
The 6 AM email
Every morning at 6 AM, each administrator gets one email in two parts:
- Needs you: what you have to do, most urgent first.
- Done by Sidekick, last 24 hours: what Cartwright did by itself.
If the first part is empty, you are all set.
Turning it on and off
1. Open Settings. 2. Find the card called Automated mode. 3. Click Switch to automated. Cartwright runs once straight away, so you can see what it does. 4. To stop, click Switch to manual. Nothing already sent is changed.
Run now runs it again straight away. It tells you what it found each time, even when everything was already up to date.
Still stuck?
Email hello@cartwright.fm. One person reads it, and you will get a real answer rather than a ticket number.
What we can help with: exactly what Cartwright did, and what your automation system said back — we read its import log and put it in plain words.
What we cannot do is set up another company's software for you. If the fix is a setting inside your automation system, that is a question for its support desk, and we will tell you so rather than guess.
