Sidekick
Sidekick is the assistant built into Cartwright. The Sidekick button is in the bottom right corner of every screen.
Ask it anything
Type a question, or press Talk and say it. For example:
- "What needs me today?"
- "Why does it say to rebuild a day in Creator, and how?"
- "Did X Car Wash's spots air yesterday?"
Sidekick answers from what Cartwright knows right now: your Dashboard, the logs for a week before and after today, Automated mode, and these help articles. It answers in plain words.
Every answer ends with one of these:
- ✓ All clear: nothing is wrong and nothing needs you.
- → Your next step: the one thing to do next.
- ⏳ Working on it: nothing to do now. Something is still happening.
Tell it what to do
You can also give it a job, like "remind me to call them tomorrow", "send Monday's log again" or "check last Tuesday against what aired".
1. Sidekick offers a button that does the job. Nothing changes until you press it. 2. Press the button. 3. Sidekick tells you Done or Not done, and what happens next.
Good to know:
- Sidekick works with your permissions. If your role cannot do something on screen, Sidekick cannot do it for you either.
- Changes made, at the top of the Sidekick panel, lists every change made through Sidekick: who, when, what they asked, and whether it worked.
Describe an order
1. On the Orders screen, click Describe an order. 2. Type or say what the customer wants, like "New customer X Car Wash on Main Street wants the cheapest package, all day and weekends." 3. Sidekick drafts the advertiser and the order. It looks up the business's address, picks the package, and marks anything still missing. 4. Check the draft, fill in the gaps, and save it yourself.
Turning it on
Sidekick is off until an administrator turns it on, from the Sidekick button.
When it is on, each question, along with a summary of what Cartwright knows that bears on it, is sent to cartwright.fm to be answered. Your database stays on your station's computer.
Still stuck?
Email hello@cartwright.fm. One person reads it, and you will get a real answer rather than a ticket number.
What we can help with: exactly what Cartwright did, and what your automation system said back — we read its import log and put it in plain words.
What we cannot do is set up another company's software for you. If the fix is a setting inside your automation system, that is a question for its support desk, and we will tell you so rather than guess.
